I totally agree. Much as I love DCL, we have never successfully replaced Lukaku.

I also think it becomes a mindset, everyone going on about our lack of strike force, inability to score goals, constant criticism etc etc, must get to the players. I’m sure they are all desperate to score but you can feel the tension whenever we go forward and the expectation that we won’t score is huge. It must absolutely hammer their confidence and inhibit play. Apart from the fact that he didn’t score, from what little bit of the game I saw Maupay wasn’t that bad yesterday.
It’s like a child - if you criticise them constantly they start not believing in themselves. Or I might just be over thinking it

Hi everyone,

Some really bad news yesterday. My cousin passed away , she was only 2 years older than me and the only child of my mum's sister.

Needless to say mum was pretty upset.

Because the death was sudden ( she just went in her sleep) there will be a post mortem which is likely to delay the funeral until we are on holiday.

All very sad here.

Very true. If you tell somebody often enough that they are rubbish at something then they believe it.

Morning! It’s not been too bad at all thank you, I’ve certainly discovered who the untidy one is and it’s not me ! I’ve kept myself busy and been out shopping for earrings for the big day but no luck so far. I’m thinking of going into Liverpool or Southport today to continue my mooching if the rain holds off.
I don’t mind spiders, but show me a moth and im off like a shot, so I understand how you feel, in fact the first thing I bought when I knew Mr P was away for the weekend was fly spray just in case . I’m a big believer in live and let live but not moths, yuk, they really freak me out

Hello everybody. I've just had a Nana nap. All the sea air and walking yesterday combined with two pretty tough gym sessions and six hours overtime must have taken its toll.
I've just read some of the abuse directed at Maupay. It's disgraceful. Nobody should be subject to that. Social media can be utterly toxic at times.
It's a lovely day here. The sunflowers I planted actually have flowers on them so looking forward to them opening. My tomatoes however are resolutely green. I've had about two red ones so far. I'll have to start googling what to do with green tomatoes soon.
I'm.OK with spiders and moths. I usually get the job of removing them from my daughter's room.

You can pick them as they start to change darker then put them with some ripened ones and cover with newspaper .The ripe ones give of a gas that ripens the others .Or make chutney .

The trick is to throw the green tomatoes in the black bin. Then burn the tomato plant and throw it in the brown bin. Then go to Tesco and buy some red tomatoes. I hope my vast horticultural knowledge is of some use to you……
