Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Evening guys. Busy day today (and tomorrow). I'm having the neighbours around for a curry tomorrow night so I've been busy slaving over the stove all afternoon. I'm doing an Anj inspired Zanzibar chicken curry, a mushroom bhaji side dish, some tamarind fries and an authentic Indian rice dish. Unlike Blue, I bought the naan breads at the supermarket, but everything else is prepared from scratch. Chicken and mushroom dishes are done and, if I say so myself, are stunningly good. I'm trying to replicate the tamarind fries from my favourite restaurant in Liverpool. It's my second attempt and I'm going to use treacle syrup instead of honey as it wasn't quite there first time around. The rice is always the hardest to get right but last time it was perfect so I'm hoping I can do it again/

Anyway I'm relaxing now so will be back soon with the gin pic. Hope everyone is well.
Sounds amazing 🧑🏼‍🍳

Evening everyone, re acclimatising back to Wigan from Vienna. Just one Baileys for me tonight whilst watching Maria - the film about the last days of Maria Callas’ life starring Anjelina Jolie as Maria. Visually stunning to watch being set in Paris and beautiful music, but not much of a story really.
Hope Kay continues to improve @peteblue and your meal sounds amazing @Barnfred 55 - just like being at Mowgli.
Family coming over tomorrow for the game- me and daughter i-l might sneak out for a walk with the baby if it looks like it’s going to be an annihilation. Pondering on what these new owners are going to do, and with zero expectations I’m not getting too excited.
Enjoy your Saturday all 💙

You spotted my favourite restaurant then Val.😀

Hi guys, just back from hospital, kay was asleep, and I mean a deep sleep this morning. When her lunch arrived we couldn’t wake her up and tbh I was happy seeing her in such a restful state. Anyway apparently the ‘rules’ say that the main meal cannot be left for too long so it got taken away, however they left the pudding, yoghurt, biscuits etc, so when she woke she had enough to get her through the afternoon. It was funny though when a nurse came in to give her an oral medicine and she just wouldn't wake up, but after much shaking by both myself and the nurse, she half opened her eyes and her mouth opened a little, the nurse swooped and put the mixture into her mouth. Kay then fell asleep again. The doctor told me that she was making good progress and the nurse said her blood pressure and pulse were perfect, so all going in the right direction. Of course they still haven’t learnt the incontinence routine and once again Kay, the bed, her nightie etc all had to be changed. Anyway when I left she was sleeping lovely with a smile on her face and hopefully I’ll have her back soon….

The tears are good Pete as they will release a little bit of the pressure inside. Take all the help offered moving forward and you just keep on being there for Kay. She knows everything you are doing mate and she would tell you if she only could.

I would hope that was true, but honestly she has no idea or comprehension what is happening, I can see it in her face….

My heart goes out to you and Kay @peteblue .I know when my time comes ( as a selfish person I want to go first ) I will be totally lost ,my wife does every single thing she can in my life ,I am not looking forward to being alone at all. Happily for you Kay will be discharged as soon as they can because they will need the bed and whatever the cost if there is any just look at that chair again and think. You must tell Kay we are all thinking of her as I have said before she does know but hasn't got a way of showing you ,it is hell for her being as she is . Stay strong that wonderful man.

Thanks Blue, but my biggest fear is me going first. I need to ensure I’m around to make sure Kay is cared for and is alright until she is not…but that’s for another day……..

Morning all, lovely bright sunny morning which is a welcome change from the dull gloomy weather of the last few days. Off to the shop soon then I suppose I should do something about putting the tree up. The grandkids have complained about it not feeling Christmassy in our house, my reply of “That’s because it’s not Christmas yet” doesn’t cut much ice with them. Their decorations have been up since the 1st.
Have a good day, all.💙

Good morning all on this snowy day here ,off to the village fete later we expect about 50 people !!!! .
I hope all had a good night and have a wonderful afternoon .
My son has had his diagnosis and he is on the ASD scale they said that it is not correct to use the term Asperger as it has nazi connections and they could not say were he was on the ASD scale as it is not their policy wink wink .Now I am open to lots of things but he does not have that ,he was a lot more settled when we spoke .I think he just needed to have a box to fit and he can now process the judgement and see where he goes .
They did however tell him there is a post diagnosis session available on the last Friday of each month and he will find out if that still happens this month .
It does of course mean that he is still marooned in Liverpool ,where does this end for him and his family ?
Have a great day all COYB
