Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Hello. Flying into City Airport. No I haven't booked anything yet apart from the Titanic thing. We are staying right in the city centre so there should be plenty of options. I'm really looking forward to it
City centre is small and easy to walk around. Granny Annie’s does good pub grub and if you like Indian I highly recommend Nu Delhi.

For a drink, loads to choose from and I recommend Madden’s and Kelly’s Cellars for proper Irish bars, the latter of which is very popular with tourists having said that.

Afternoon all. Just waiting for a delivery then off to sons to watch the match. Don’t think we’ll win but I’m sure I’ll be properly distracted by my little granddaughter. Feel like I’m just waiting for the onslaught of the snow at the moment- the forecast is a lot of snow for us which is unusual. Hope it doesn’t start to snow before the end of the game as I will be on my way home if it does - I don’t do driving in the snow, especially over Parbold Hill (@jazzy will understand).
Looking forward to an update from @Barnfred 55. Hope you get to the airport safely tomorrow @anjelikaferrett.
Enjoy your Saturday everyone 💙
Yeah we are quite a bit lower than you Val and we've got sleet forecast lasting 24 hours but could just as easily be snow.

If it does snow on top of icy roads then Parbold Hill will be treacherous.

Just been out at a local nursery , bought a couple of lovely rhodis and a stunning 6 ft tree fern.

Fortunately we couldn't possibly get the tree fern 🌴 in the car so they will deliver some time in March when it warms up a bit.

Anyway it was absolutely freezing so fire lit , Everton on the radio and cups of tea are the order of the day.

Southampton and Palace both losing and Bournemouth goal chalked off for offside. Fingers crossed 🤞 for the rest of the afternoon.

I hate people losing their jobs but Dyche has got to go. We have become an embarrassment- totally devoid of ideas. For what it's worth, I don't think we have ever successfully replaced Lukaku as far as strikers go and we've been on a downward spiral since Martinez left - apart from when Don Carlo was in charge. That could have been so good had Madrid not come knocking.
Still no snow. This is a good thing. The cat has welded herself to the radiator- she sits right next to it and usually has her paws just in touching distance of it.

Didn't get any sleep on the plane so had a little nap this afternoon after 36 hours on the go. Managed a nice lunch beforehand and a fantastic meal this evening at an unbelievably good steak restaurant. I of course tried the local fayre, Kudu and it was delicious. Si good we're going back on Monday for Michele's birthday.

Early night tonight before a visit to see the penguins tomorrow.

We have an open fire and there is nothing like it during the winter. The glow of it alone is comforting. My Mum often tells me of her younger days looking for shapes in the flames as the family end of day chat was in full swing. That got me thinking today about modern life. Every film or song you want on demand but maybe we were better when people had less and conversation or singing was everything. Not eulogising that as a perfect era or anything like that but again pondering that too much choice doesn’t work out the best.
