Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all on this dark one here .I hope all slept well and have a great day today .Nothing much happening here except last night we got home after dark ( not usual for us as we shop early ) being out in the sticks I put the main beam on for it to go off on its own ,this I noticed a couple of times and it is the relection from signposts that makes the car " think " that it is the lights from an oncoming vehicle so it dims the beam .I love the modern world and would love it more if I could understand it !

Morning all, rain overnight but it’s clearing away and another grey dismal day is forecast. Off for my weekly natter with my friend later so that will provide a few laughs although I suppose she will still be smarting over Manure’s game on Sunday. My brother is in Florida for an art exhibition. It was 21c when he arrived last Friday and has been cloudy and temperature of 12c since Monday, pretty much home from home, just slightly warmer.
Enjoy the spa day @anjelikaferrett. Hope you have found some peace @peteblue.
Have a good day, all💙

Afternoon everyone, hope you are all well. Dentist for me this morning and then came home to the news that I’ve got my season ticket for BM 😃. Very exciting. Like @blue1948 I have had a problem with my car/phone as it won’t let me call out when I’m driving, so whilst I was in town (Wigan not Liverpool 😂) I nipped into Vodafone and this young guy took it off me - five seconds later problem solved. This is after me spending ages over a period of months trying to find the problem on my phone and buying a new cable which was clearly a waste of money. Still all’s well that ends well - it’s surprising how these things that seem unimportant become a real pain when you haven’t got them.
I’ve never been to the US but I always thought it was hot all year in Florida, I bet your brother is disappointed @Gwladysover.
Have a great Wednesday 💙

He’s been several times at this time of year and it’s usually in the low twenties so it’s unusual to be so cold. He didn’t need all the t-shirts he packed. My friend lives in Wisconsin and the temperature there is -13C with a windchill of -26 so it’s could be worse. Pleased you got your season ticket, not envious at all🤣.
I give any technology to Harry, he’s usually able to sort it.

Hi all, sorry I’ve been missing but I’ve spent the last few nights looking at my wife and basically spending hours in tears just looking at her and thinking of how we were just over two years ago. I know that others have been through rough times, and certainly my friends have, but this pain is never ending. Every day is the same for her and myself. She has recovered from her time in hospital so all good there, but when I look at my beautiful and intelligent wife and see her how she is now it cracks me up. I know that many others are going through the same thing and I really feel for them. Anyway I’m going to try to sleep, god only knows what my dreams will be about but a bit of peace would be welcome…..sorry to be a bit of a misery, I’ll be fine in a day or two…..
Hi Pete, don't apologise mate, it is very tough situation. I lost my father to Alzheimer's and vascular dementia, and although he called me by the wrong name he told me nearly every visit that he loved me. He gave my mum a very hard time all through that dreadful disease resulting in my mother having a massive stroke. I would get home as often as I could to spend time with him, one visit he told me his back was sore , the poor man was covered in shingles , his whole back was sores. Everyday I would put the lotion on him and everyday he would thank me. We never had a cross word . No need to apologise to any one for talking. My father was placed in hospital were he refused to eat and drink at the end. A lovely nurse rang me at home too see if I could encourage my father to eat, his last words to me were, " you're one pain in the arse Dave". My name is Paul. Love him dearly with the fondest memories. Were always here Pete.

We are off to Phoenix in a few weeks, we will be going from -12 to +20 my mate (also a Blue) has a place down there, always helps when you have free accommodation

Good morning all on this fine day here .I hope all are well and had a good night. I breaks my heart when I see that it is a hard time for you @peteblue .They say that the person with alzeimer's doesn't have all the pain and that the more you love someone who is suffering from this terrible terrible ilness the worse it affects you .
So yes you will be broken hearted Pete , all we can offer is a friendly ear and a chat whenever .It is the saddest state to be in and although there has been a lot in my family I never had the intensity of living full time with my Nan, my uncle or aunt . There is help and a solution somewhere for you so stay strong and talk to the people who cared for Kay . I know that that isn't the real pain ,it is the loss of your beautiful intelligent best friend that cannot be replaced and the pain of watching her suffer .As I have said I know she is aware of your love for her and the care you are giving now ,she would tell you if she could .

Thank you Blue…..

I don't lnow what to say to you Pete. It must be so hard for you emotionally and physically. Could you get some help - one of your children maybe to look after Kay for a night so you could get a full night's sleep? Other than that , you are taking such good care of your lovely wife. Hugs x

Thanks Anj, as you know my son helps, and I do get a few hours sleep. The council care team dropped off an alarm system for me today in case she gets up in the middle of the night, so at least I don’t lie awake wondering if she’s ok as her bed is now downstairs and I will be be immediately notified. It may take a bit of getting used to but it’s one more step forward……

Thank you for sharing Paul, It is a dreadful disease. I can only sympathise with those who have had to live through it. It has a dreadful effect upon those closest , like your mum. But I keep remembering the vows at our wedding 53 years ago…”to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part “… a vow is a vow as your mum will have understood….…

Good morning all on this dark dark morning here ,I hope all are well and had a good night 's sleep .
@peteblue it is little things like the alarm that will give you a fresh burst of energy ,this is an indication of what is perhaps out there .If you dissect the situation and look at the most difficult bits then try to solve them one by one just as this alarm will ease your mind once you are used to it ,I know it is a bit cold hearted but a clear mind is what is best at times .Please send our love to Kay when she wakes ,she does know and you stay strong .
