Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Well I expected a quiet evening last night during my respite visit to the pub. When I got there the whole pub sang happy birthday, lots of food was brought out from the kitchen together with cakes. Cards galore had been signed by staff and customers and some friends who normally only get out at the weekend were there, it was lovely. I hadn’t told anyone in the pubs it was my birthday as I was a bit down tbh because Kay couldn’t be there, but later at home I got video calls from my kids in the USA, Saudi Arabia and my DiL in the Philippines. The time differences were incredible but somehow it all worked out well….
Oh that's so nice - and you fully deserve a lovely celebration x

Good morning everybody, it has been a hectic few days. The best news being that Frankie arrived yesterday. He is just adorable. Not quite as chunky as expected - 9lbs 4oz. Charlotte is fine and msy even be home today. We also managed to get moved after about three days of non stop fetching, carrying, cleaning and flat back building. I've never worked so hard! Chris and Sophie came last night for a few days. They are going back on Sunday as Chris has his next lot of treatment on Monday.
Have a lovely day everyone x
It’s all going on for you this week! 9.4 is a good weight isn’t it. Congratulations to you all, be happy in your new home, and good luck to Chris with his treatment 💙

That’s super, I’m glad you had a good birthday Pete.

Happy belated birthday Pete. So pleased you had such a good time, albeit without Kay. You deserve it mate.

Could be the Tik Tok video was fake mate but it seemed genuine enough. And I've not checked the Hamas flag claim. I took that from the comment section. It was bright yellow with black signage but they were waving it about like they were on the Kop.

I'll have a look at that Badenoch thing as I'm interested what that was. She won't be around much longer I think. She's a walking disaster from what I've seen.
Hamas flag is green I think but wouldn’t bet the house on it. I have just seen the aforementioned ‘up Hamas’ video and if it’s real it was a very foolish move by them.

Badenoch is a gift from God for kneecap in terms of keeping them in the spotlight.

Brilliant news Anj! Best wishes to you all.

Didn’t know of the Hamas thing myself but happy to take your word of it. That’s just wrong.

My comment re writing of music was that Badenoch blocked Kneecap getting prize money for something or other as they weren’t supporters of the UK. It was such a publicity coup for them to then win a court case over the same.
Bit more meat on the bones re this Hamas thing. There was a bit on the Jeremy Vine show this morning and this wasn't at Coachella. The footage was taken from one of their shows at Kentish Town late last year. Doesn't stop it being wrong or indeed me changing my opinion of them as artists, but it does show that Ms Osborne was kicking off purely because they were showing support for the people of Palestine and opposing the actions of the Israeli government. In my opinion she doesn't come out of this very well and shows she's out of touch. Music has always been an outlet for political views.

This Badenoch thing is quite interesting. It wasn't prize money but a grant under a UK government fund set up to assist musical artists in exporting their wares abroad. Essentially to help cover the cost of touring outside the UK. I do find it a bit strange that a punk band who heavily critic a government should then apply to that same government for a grant. But I see from this years award list The Lambrini girls (who I love) have also received a grant so it seems quite commonplace. The Nova Twins too. So I'll give them a pass on that. :) You can see why Badenoch would get her knickers in a twist over it but she shouldn't have intervened IMO. They didn't actually win the case. The Labour government simply decided not to contest the lawsuit and let the original grant be awarded.

Hi everyone, thought I'd say hello as touch wood, I actually don't have a headache today, just a very slight one above my eye but this doesn't happen very often.

I've kind of sacked off the football for the season, we're safe and it'll give me a reset ready for what should be an exciting summer ahead. Mind you it could have just been because of the headaches as I was pretty much out of action.

Daisy is good, she's got really really good off lead now, i can trust her when other dogs are there to come with me and not run off with the dog lol. It's given her a chance to be off the lead a bit more up the fields and I love watching her running around stretching her legs.

Still having problems with her itching. I've changed foods, tried tails.com but seems to have made it worse. Bought some more expensive pro-biotic anti-itch tablets and they don't work as well as what I was using. So it's trial and error at the minute.

I've started doing group at my mental health place, we are learning coping skills to recognise triggers for my anger, so far it's just been pages off the internet printed out for us. They have said it will be difficult and ,must be consciously practised as I am basically trying to reprogram my brain.

Well, hope you're all well and speak soon.

I think somewhere in the midst of time Kneecap effectively acknowledged that they are out for controversy and publicity at all times. No headline is a bad one essentially. In that sense they are almost playing characters seeing how far they can push things is my take personally. Labour recognised this in respect of the settlement and it got quite a lot of publicity here at the time- the case would have been the denial of nationality and all that entails under the GFA. In a nice end to the story, the band donated the settlement to two youth clubs in a cross community gesture.

Don’t think Osborne is just out of touch, more stuck up her own arse to the extent she can’t read the room.
