Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

That’s very hot for how cold and snowy it can get during the winter.

How nice that you have the opportunity to find that many mushrooms in the forest. Going mushroom pickings in a Finland forest sounds magical. And then one can cook magical dishes with all those tasty mushrooms ?

I would love to visit Finland. One day when we do our road trip around Europe it will be one of my stops ??
It’s probably pretty hot wherever you are @Sassy Colombian … just saying like ?

Did the dishes had enough salt? I am one who truly believes that the right amount of salt is needed for food to have depth of flavour.
Maybe. I'll put a sprinkle of salt on tonight and see if it makes any difference. When I'm cooking I'm very careful with my salt usage as I don't like things too salty. It's possible that the chef forgot to use salt (easily done) but there were 4 different dishes and it's unlikely he forgot to salt all of them.

I like cooking low on salt but I do add more to a dish if I notice the flavor is too flat.

Perhaps, but if it was the same chef cooking all dishes then it could be easily done. The best solution to your curry issue is cook your own next time around instead of ordering takeout. I know for experience that some of the food that I cook is better than ordering out. Although at times it is nice to have that break from cooking and that’s why we too order food, even if is not as tasty as mine ?

Morning all ,

Many thanks to @Barnfred 55 for the reminder that Rick Wakeman was on Sky Arts last night , brilliant concert.

Ok , dry cloudy and breezy today.

Off to yoga now and then some gardening whilst I listen to Radio Merseyside and hopefully Everton picking up 3 desperately needed points. Is it possible to cross your fingers and do gardening at the same time ?
If you have Okra you can , "Ladies Fingers ".

You know the saying Fred " if want something doing ........",plus you are a fussy bugger .

Treated myself to a curry takeaway last night, the first takeaway I've had since I've been on my own. I ordered enough to do me for tonight's tea aswell. I was really looking forward to it but tbh I was left a bit deflated. It was ok, but I realised that I probably prefer my own curries more. It's something I might do again if I'm actually in Falmouth, but I might as well just eat in if I'm there. Thought the delivery charge of £5 was a bit steep too, but I am out in the sticks a bit.
To be fair it probably is at least a 40 minute round trip from Falmouth to you.
I'd be more concerned about it being cold!

Good afternoon folks. Just catching up with the GAA, disappointing takeaway, mushrooms and Four Lives ( I watched all of that when it was on. Absolutely shocking) I love the randomness of this thread. Arrived home just after midnight last night, flight to Manchester was great, landed 20 minutes early and a good run home. Did manage to have an argument with a Spanish border official (probably not my finest hour) over COVID passes. We showed him the passenger locator form that we had filled in and submitted electronically. He insisted on seeing proof of vaccination as well - the declaration on the form wasn't enough. I showed him the printed passes that we had used to enter Spain 5 days earlier. He screamed at me that they were no good snatched them off me, along with our boarding passes and binned them. I said why are they no good? They are for coming in. I said but the information is still the same. we haven't suddenly become unvaccinated in 5 days. He shouted a bit more and I decided that now was the time to give in gracefully and downloaded new COVID passes!

Also while in the airport Athletico Bilbao rocked up to fly to Betis for their match today. so that was quite exciting.

Apart from that would highly recommend Bilbao as a place to visit, lovely city, not expensive, very chilled. I love the way whole families -grandparents, parents, children just go out and have coffee or beer and relax together. I also have a new favourite beer Amstel Oro, sort of like Amstel's older brother - bit darker, 6.2% alcohol. really nice.

Here's to 3 points today.
