Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Yup, snagged myself..I'll chuck in a few photos from the last trip, when I get home later on today, there are some in the boss photos thread but not of fish. Don't live in CO, live in Arizona, but I go to CO often and I'll retire there eventually, even if I have live out of a tent (houses that I like there are NOT cheap...plus I'd like some acreage).
Yes, please share some pics with us. We all enjoy seeing the works through other friend’s eyes. Colorado is beautiful and if it wasn’t because of the weather I would move there too when I retire, but I’m determined for it to be somewhere warm so Costa Rica sounds like my dream location at the moment :)

The river I caught the cutthroat's out of...can't remember the name. All these photos are large, so you can click on them to get the full photo. Saw a bear walking the treeline on the right, later on, which puts you on alert...lol. Paid no attention us, it was a good distance away too...problem is the high brush, they can disappear quick.

Looks like you had a fun trip. Those trout seem fresh and delicious. Nothing like consuming the food that one have grown, gathered, or fished ?

Morning all, lovely day again. Woke at 5.00 to the blackbird singing and a pink moon. I would loved to have been an archaeologist. My brothers garden is near the parish church and there is an old footpath running close by. I’ve never given up hope of turning up lost treasure when digging there, so far only a couple of WW1 army buttons, fragments of old clay pipes etc but still interesting. An archaeological dig about a quarter of a mile away a few years ago revealed the remains of a Roman Villa the public open days they had were fascinating. Mr G. would love to have been a carpenter/joiner @blue1948 but in those days you did what your parents told you so his ambitions were thwarted, he still loves carpentry though and we have a garage full of odd bits of timber for his “projects”. Best of luck to your little lad @Armaghtoffee, sure he’ll do you proud. Have rattled on bit this morning, have a great day all. I’m off to the shop.

@Gwladysover that is what happened to me ,I was and still am mad about cars but they told me to get any job and my step father was a joiner.
I watched that dig just last week ,fascinating to watch but I suspect a little slower in real time .It amazes me how they know what things are from a small fragment ,size , shape etc.

Did you watch the thing with David Attenborough last night - The Final Day? It was brilliant, loads of proper science. archaeology and some amazing special effects. It was about the last days of the dinosaurs. Definitely worth a watch on catch up. There's loads of Roman stuff near where we live - being not a million miles away from either York or Hadrian's Wall. Where we used to live, there was an excavated Roman fort (Binchester) within walking distancce. It is supposed to have the most well preserved example of a Roman bath house that has been discovered.

Great sharks are truly amazing creatures, all sharks. It makes me so mad they get killed for their fins and their bodies get tossed back in the ocean to drown, humans can be so cruel :(

I bought lottery tickets for tomorrow’s 306 million draw, if I win it then we are going together on a white shark diving experience ?
Imagine winning $300m on the lottery and then being eaten by a shark lol. That's what you call unlucky.

Good morning friends. Hope you are all OK. I've loved some of your "dream job" scenarios. Certainly when I went to school there were very narrow margins as to what was expected. Especially for girls. I always loved science - still do so was forced into doing science A Levels because late 70s they were desperately trying to get girls into science. Unfortunately I am utterly crap at Maths and you need maths to do science ( especially physics) so it didn't end well!

Hope everybody is enjoying the long weekend. @jazzy you've been quiet just lately. Hope everything is OK with you. I have no plans today. Doing a nice roast dinner tomorrow then going to Liverpool Monday - Wednesday next week. I'm looking forward to it. My brother is away in Spain so I might try and catch up with some old friends on Tuesday - Dad goes to bed ridiculously early.

Good luck to your son @Armaghtoffee . Fingers crossed for him. The shark diving will have to be put on hold @Sassy Colombian . I didn't win but it's already on again for next week!

Snap!

I always said I wanted to do the same then seeing sharks in Barcelona up close knocked my confidence. Then seeing a Great White wreck a cage in a video and end up in it with diver removed all ambitions.

Would still love to see them from a boat though.
Because the water is slowly warming up you're starting to see some of the larger sharks in Cornish waters AT. Great whites have been spotted of the Scillies.
