Maverick

Player Valuation: £8m
Everton boss David Moyes is making a deadline-beating move for US star Michael Bradley.

Moyes wants to snap up the £3m-rated midfielder from Heerenveen but faces competition from Roy Keane’s Sunderland.

Bradley, 20, at 6-ft-1 the kind of power player Moyes likes, is the rising star of US football and has already been capped a dozen times.

Now here is the only article I have seen on this so who knows. Also didn't see this rumour on the board, so forgive me if I am late to the party.

This would be a very good signing by the Blues. Bradley is a real strong player with plenty of power as well. And he's team USA's manager's son to boot! He's played pretty well in Heerenveen.

thoughts?..... even though most of you have never seen him play (or maybe heard of him)

Posted this in World Football earlier....

Well, the reliable source that is the News of the World reckons we want this Bradley cat...

'Everton are keen to sign United States midfielder Michael Bradley for about £3m. (News of the World) '

What position is he?

Holding midfielder. But has 9 goals in 20 matches including a hat trick. Right now he's prob the US's 2nd best player (not counting GKs and I think Dempsey is better). Will bring much needed size to the team (6'1") and young (20 years old). In my opinion he's worth at least 5M. Works hard and will fight for his position, US national team coaches son, respects the game.

US players may be the best bargains in the prem. There is a hell of alot young talent in the US now. I bet even Altidore will only cost around 8M when he gets old.

He's going to be real expensive. Real Madrid is already looking at him.

Maybe not the MLS really doesn't know how to do business in the transfer market. They hold players for way too long and don't sell until the contract is just about up. I think Altidore would be better off going to a smaller club 1st before Real Madrid. He's not ready yet and will spend a few years in the reserves there. 2 clubs I think he would excel at are Athletico Madrid, where he could partner with Aguero and Aston Villa where he could bury Young and Abongolor's crosses.

I'd take him on Everton but I'm not sure if he's better than Anchibe or Vaughn. He'll struggle to get in the starting 11.

Thought he was a midfielder?

Seems like a bit of a tribal football rumour, cant see it happening really! Have never seen him so cant comment on how good he is, but if Moyesy does sign him he will be good enough, we dont sign bad players anymore!

Bradley for 3M might be good business from a long term point of view. Wouldn't have a problem settling in either with Howard at the club to guide him around.

I will say that the more and more I watch Bradley for the US National Team, the more impressed I become with him.

No one can say now that he plays only because his father is the manager. He's earned it.

I know there have been a couple of mistakes in the past (Kroldrup  and VDM :dodgy:) but Moysey has a knack of picking a good un from a lower league so if we get him I'm sure he's gonna do well for us (y)

Bradley set to stay???

Heerenveen coach Gertjan Verbeek believes Bradley will not leave Holland in the transfer window.

The American international, who moved to the Eredivisie in 2006, has scored 15 times this season, including eight in his last eight games, as Heerenveen have climbed to third in the table.

Such prolific form has attracted interest from across Europe, with three Premier League clubs and also Hamburg all reported to be keeping tabs on him.

The 20-year-old New Jersey native could leave on a free when his contract expires in 18 months, but Verbeek is not ready to let him go just yet.

He told the club's official website: "Never say never in football, but I count on Bradley staying here.

"He is ready though for the step to a top club. Bradley has a great mentality; he will always make it. Just as I was convinced that Klaas-Jan (Huntelaar) would make it at Ajax, I am almost certain that he will make it elsewhere."

He looks like a moyes sort of player. And right price to.
