The thing with Keane, Mina, and Holgate, is that on their day all 3 are capable of putting up easy clean sheets. If every match they played like that, it would be a no-brainer to just keep the three.

But the problem is they arent consistent, yet. Of the three, Holgate has surprisingly been the consistent one this season, and the other two are trying to grab the other slot. Two dominant CB's in the current game are worth their weight in gold, because they allow the fullbacks to get forward, and the midfielders to be much more aggressive in attack.

He played well last night, but let's just remember that this is a Norwich side that's only scored 1 goal in their last 7 games. He's always been capable of good games, but he's one of those players where what he can't do is every bit as important as what he can. As soon as he comes up against pace and movement he's just lost.
Like when he played against Liverpool, plenty of pace and movement there and he played really well, get off his back and give him some credit for once.

We played very deep against Liverpool, they had no opportunity to use pace, and their movement was surprisingly poor. I did give him credit, it was the bit where I said he played well. Maybe watch games and read the posts your replying to, for once?

It’s not that he’s slow as everyone likes to say. Keane is pretty fast in a straight line sprint. He actually managed to recover on Vardy and others a fair bit. He just doesn’t turn very well, so the Vardy’s of the world tend to thrive making runs off the back of him when he is facing the wrong way.

I’m on team Keane, but we need another CB with the pace and agility to deal with the Vardy’s that like to hang on the last man. Otherwise, he is perfectly fine for where we are atm.

....the recent birth of his first child could really help his mental state and his form.
That and he has hopefully recovered mentally from the knock Gana gave his brain a while back. Before that happened, Keane looked like he was about to score a header every game- he won everything in the air. I hope this is him getting that mojo back.

I dunno, a week after the birth of my first child I could barely figure out how to turn on the TV to watch a game of footie, never mind play one.

...ha, ha. Had I known about him becoming a Dad I’d have definitely backed him at Norwich. It’s amazing how often that happens. There’s a golf tipster in the Racing Post who often gives a selection based on that event happending.
