This guy's improvement under Ancelotti has really gone under the radar IMO. I noticed when he was first appointed he earmarked Keane as one of our most important players - you can see why. He's turned into a real leader at the back, his passing is becoming quite good, his positioning and defensive play have improved tenfold in the past few months as well. Mad what a bit of good man management and coaching can do!
He's still prone to getting turned and being out of position but....... Like you said he's improved tenfold and between him and Mina I would say Keane has shown more consistency.
Confidence plays a massive part and he seems a lot more bullish and confident in his performances

He needs to improve his mental strength when the crowds come back. He is definitely a confidence player and if he’s on it he’s as good as anyone. But he can be the opposite if the team are in a bad run of play. Hopefully Allen and Doucoure will show him the way.

This is true, but I think we're a long way from crowds, maybe around Feb if we are lucky.. However it works both ways, we have seen a player there, we have to be supportive, same with Pickford really.

Maybe so but I have never had full faith in Pickford. At the time I thought we could spend money elsewhere and keep Robles who I believed had potential. He was a lot more commanding of his area than Pickford has ever been.

What a ball, very nice that he has that in the his pocket, he’s a different player when he’s full of confidence. Too bad he got caught out a minute later but it was a good call
I had really lost faith in him but his improvement under Carlo has been superb - not just defending but his contribution to our attacks.
