2020/21 Michael Keane

He was fantastic yesterday. The way we set up and the way Chelsea attacked suited him. His positioning was impeccable. He was superb. Where he struggles IMO is when we play higher up the pitch and on the front foot. He struggles with the long ball over his head and with any sort of pace against him. Playing with either Holgate or Godfrey (rapid) will help him.

Thats what I said Cameron

Yiu think Richarlison is crap, so don’t bother
I thought you were talking about Michael Keane, that’s whonthe thread was about. Regarding Richarlison, I don’t think he is crap, I think he is very overrated by many fans at Everton, he is very good on his day, just not often enough.

Just said something similar in the Leicester thread. If Coleman is fit, and Holgate comes in next to him with Godfrey on the left, we will have the pace to counter the Vardy counters...

Uncharacteristically for him he charged forward a few times and made timely interceptions and tackles. That takes impeccable timing, especially when you're not the quickest.

Generally he's been fantastic since last March. He's obviously been putting a lot of work in, and there's been a mentality change.

Is right. Koeman bought him off the back of him playing behind a protected defence at burnley. So it all comes down to how we play. Some want to eventualy see a high line pressing game.
Thats not keane.

Great for when we are playing like a little team defending for our life, anything more and he is not good enough.

Need diff types of players though.

Maybe but he does give Carlo options for the back line with the other CBs.

Remember when just being a good defender was good enough, modern tactics don't suit old fashioned centre half types but Keane alongside godfrey may be a decent partnership

Hopefully it's a deep line tomorrow!
