There is way too much of a focus on the mental side from our fans sometimes. I really don't see Gomes as fragile, he's just not really very good at football. Ok maybe Keane is, but it is an exception not the rule. He's been a disastrous signing - one of many. He is not a leader. Mentally, he isn't up to it. I don't want to pile on, but he and Gomes are utterly fragile upstairs and don't have it at this level. Mina is the only defender with the character and ability to make anything of the leader's role back there - but he's not interested in playing club football. Kenny and Holgate are over-promoted and Coleman is over-the-hill. The younger players (Mykolenko, Patterson, Branthwaite, and Godfrey) are punts at this point. None seem ready. That whole area of the pitch needs to be ripped up come summer, whether we are in the top flight or not.
….remember when @4737carlin had him on the same pedestal he put Benitez on. What a judge.
When he was playing well I posted we should sell him because he’s not very good. Now we’re agreed he’s not very good we can’t sell him.
Watching forest hudd last 15 mins. Centre halves for both teams look better than keane. No joke. More hungry. More mobile.
How have we ended up with this slow barge at the back for so long.
Yeah that sub for me is Lampard saying "you're done mate". Barring injuries think we'll see a combo of Godfrey, Mina and Holgate to finish the season once all fit.For me that’s him done, his last act as a bottler is allowing himself to be subbed at 3-0 down for a 19 year old, he should have been kicking and screaming to get back out there and put it right, especially knowing by coming off you’re putting a kid in the firing line by going off, [Poor language removed] him
