Keane shouldn't be passing to him. I wouldn't and I'm not even a Sunday league footballer. He's got the whole pitch in front of him, under no pressure and somehow makes the decision to pass to someone 8 yards away, barely any further up the pitch than him. Iwobi should not miscontrol it and it's his mistake, but that doesn't take away from it being the wrong pass either. Two mistakes.

Keane is also passing to the side of the pitch he's left exposed by stepping out.

But him choosing the wrong pass, to someone who is completely wide open, under no pressure is a different problem. That's a problem we've had for years and years with CB's.

Bottom line is Alex Iwobi should not be mis-controlling an easy ball to his feet, under no pressure. End of.

It doesnt excuse Keane's incompetance as a professional footballer, but in that situation the whole "keane is now out of position" is irrelevant when a professional footballer at that level cant control a football. REGARDLESS of whether Keane should have been more positive and looked more forward, Alex Iwobi has time, space and alledgedly, the ability to control a pass. If footballers always positiioned themselves incase a team-mate makes a fundamental error, then we'd have one very, very dull sport. You cannot legisilate for what was a comical error.

If Keane had played a risky 50/50 pass, then got caught out, im all in the, WHAT ARE YOU DOING camp. But it was a simple pass, completely messed by Iwobi and resulted in a goal, purely down to Iwobi's error. What happened there happens all the time across the league, the difference is the ball is controlled by someone who is competant.

Hate it to be such a negative post, but it's extremely hard to see the positives in this team at the moment. I'm all in on the Keane is useless camp, but for me keep the blame attributed to where it lies. Iwobi controls it like a 10 year old coudl have done, then that goal doesnt happen and nobody is back tracking UNEXPECTEDLY.

This all puts to bed the debate about Mina by the way. He's an absolute sicknote but you can tell the difference in the team when he plays.
