I think it was Mee partnering Keane, with Tarkowski coming into the side after they fleeced us for £27m.
Could have sworn it was Mee who came in to replace Keane, hence why it became clear that it was JT who was the better player by allowing Mee to slotting in seamlessly whilst we got the plodder. Either way, can only help MK to have JT along side him instead of Holgate or Godfrey. Should be able to hit the ground running.

To be honest, any scenario that involves Keane doing anything but leave is revolting to me.

Unable to crack the preferred centre-back partnership of Keane and Ben Mee,[55] Tarkowski received scant playing time, despite being an ever-present on the bench.

Wasn't he give a 5 year deal not so long ago?! Probably on the best part of 100k a week. Can't see anyone wanting to make a bid for him, or him wanting to move. The West Ham links soon went away. He'll probably be here longer than JT.

The season after they sold Keane and replaced him with Tarkowski, they jumped from 16th to 7th in the table.

Oh, absolutely. He's having a testimonial, no doubt about it.

The face of the Moshiri era.

A midfield that get overrun every game, players running in numbers straight at the back line unchallenged - until we get a competitive midfield, the defence will always be under huge pressure. Tarkowski and Keane both looked good playing for Burnley because they got protection, they’re completely exposed in our team. That’s the problem, regardless of the personnel.

As much as Mickey Keggers is a bit of a plodder, he did look good with JT along side him at Burnley (I reckon that was probably what got him the move, when we should have got JT years ago instead) so hopefully he'll look much more assured this season with his pal along side him rather than Columbian cheese legs for 15 games a year.
Low block, deep lying defence - perfect for Keane, when hes asked to move a little higher up, thats when the problems arise

Yes but we've got Abdoulaye "The Destroyer" Doucouré marshaling the midfield and orchestrating the tempo of the game from central midfield. Forget the fact that he's crap at passing and scores about two goals a season if he'd lucky, his dynamic ability at the heart of the pitch will eliminate any threat whatsoever to our defence.

Keane and Mee was the partnership, they bought Tarkowski the season before we bought Keane off them I'm guessing as the long term replacement for whoever they sold out of Keane/Mee as both had interest in them around the time
