Works both ways in my opinion. Football is about keeping the ball out of your net and putting it in the oppositions net. Missing a defensive header or missing a header for a goal will clearly have an impact on the eventual result

I am not happy about it Egg man, I just believe he needs to be taken out of the team right now, he makes too many individual errors that cost us points. I appreciate with Godfrey out it was difficult, but for a CB he is too much of a confidence player for me, he goes on decent runs but then throws in errors when pressurised then his head goes, he has to sense danger too. For a CB of his age he should have learnt more of that by now I don't think he will ever be more than just alright. We can't afford to keep having defensive lapses he isn't the only one to blame but he wouldn't be in my team week in week out.
