2024/25 Michael Keane

On the BBC football 'gossip' website today:
Everton will allow English centre-back Michael Keane, 32, to leave the club when his contract runs out at the end of June. (Football Insider)

Please let it happen...
I mean for the BBC to call this ‘gossip’ is a stretch. Imagine the uproar if Everton announced he’d signed a new 2 year deal! It would be up there as one of the worst decisions made in recent years- and that’s a very strong field of bad decisions!

I don't diagree re a new deal. However, the BBC website was simply quoting 'Football insider'...

I can't recall the process for the club releasing players that have been here ages. I would have thought, at least out of respect for their tenure, that it would be announced ahead of time, as to give the fans ample opportunity to voice their appreciation for their service. Two home games left, let's give Keano a rip-roaring send off. To be honest though I just want to know for sure we'll never need to witness him in a blue shirt again after this season.

That was Kenwright's Everton where we would give him a rip roaring send off.
