If we buy him now and loan him back, then I reckon Liege would be happy with instalments. I think the problem might be is that we want him this window (GOOD - cos we need another forward), and Liege are countering that by saying that if that's the case, they want it all up front. Really want this deal to come off one way or another, but whatever we need a new CF in by Feb 1st

Greg O Keefe and that THT bloke on Tw@tter both reckon this isn't happening and the club are looking at alternatives then you have Nixon in the Mirror saying it's nearly done. It's just a pity none of them are a reliable source of information!
 
Never heard of him before all the rumours started, but with the standard of players the Belgians are producing at the moment it would be worth taking a chance on this lad.

So he can't tell you much but he can tell you the deal looks complicated but that could change quickly given that we are in the Jan window
 
The thing with transfers is that the media are used as part of the whole negotiation process. E.g. Liege being difficult, OK we will give the impression that we are looking else where and they miss out on any fee. This then tests their commitment to holding out for the full fee now. It isn't great negotiation strategy to go into a deal with the other side believing they are the only show in town. That's how fees get blown out of proportion, when the other clubs know that you have no option but to pay the fee they are demanding.

Generally though as in this case, when its matching a teams buyout clause the full amount has to be payed up though mate, can see where their coming from in this, they dont wanna lose him, so why should they be amenable to terms of the deal when were buying him out against their will

It all boils down to the kid really,if he wants out it will happen no mileage in keeping an unhappy player.
