Millwall - why always us?

Thoughts on taking the knee?
Absolutely 100% against racism. But we are Millwall and everything gets misconstrued. My knees are shot. 2 double arthroscopies in 2020. I would seriously expect a standing ovation if I could take the knee. Hands up. I went up to central London to protect Winston Churchill’s statue with a number of our patriotic fans but not to incite trouble just to defend our wartime hero’s statue from a hate mob. Personally I don’t see colour I just see right and wrong. Do we have a racist element? Yes probably we cannot deny that. But they shame us they don’t represent us. We really do a massive amount for local community and under privileged especially local girls football. But that don’t sell papers and we are the pantomime villain. My youngest son now 15 has had a real hard time because he is Millwall. He has been targeted in all his schools. But that’s who we are and I feel terrible for him and blame myself. But he is the most sensitive innocent soul you could ever meet. I am not. I was brought up on the other side of the tracks. Adopted, lower working class background and I have fought all my life trying to give my kids a better life and I couldn’t be more proud of them all. But I am Millwall it’s in my blood like Everton is in yours. I can only apologise so much for being affiliated to over exaggerated stereotypes of what the press paint us as. But we are, by a large majority very decent human beings with very working class backgrounds who will defend our honour and our club, sometimes misguidedly, against all comers. But the vast majority of us are not how we are portrayed. My best mate who lost his life to bone marrow disease a few years back was staunchly Everton and Millwall his second team. No idea why but he was. In his memory and in deference to his lovely family I have adopted Everton as my second team and I am very, very proud to have that cherished association with you.

Millwall will always be my first team but I care and feel deeply about Everton. I also do not feel ashamed about being a white heterosexual male which I don’t believe makes me racist or sexist or anything-ist. I am a proud Englander and Brit. I pay my taxes, I help as many children’s charities as I can and I love my family almost as much as I love Millwall. If I was Gareth Bale I would say youngest son, Millwall, rest of Family, Everton, Santa Claus, etc..

Millwall are a soft/easy target for the press/social media because of their size.

Millwall are probably the only working class/non Woke club left in London except maybe D&R.

The way your fans are treated on the whole is pretty disgraceful really.

Growing up in SE London I have many friends and colleagues past and present who are Millwall fans. Most thoroughly decent people. The commitment to the local community and Youth coaching and opportunities has been excellent for years. Especially girls football. A huge number of ethnic minority players in the system as well. It's just that minority of fans and those who jump on the bandwagon looking for trouble that continue to undermine all this good work.

I'm not being horrible mate, they hate the working class. Proper little scab club and in no way more working class than Everton. And when they tried it on, they got volleyed all over the show. They are a proper little EDL mob, full of nonces and wife beaters no doubt, who brick it at the 1st sign of working class blokes not legging it.

So you went to a protest, filled with racists and fascists to hurl abuse at an anti-racist demonstration? You like a complete knob lad, and deserve all the criticism you get.

You know what Churchill did to working class people who went on strike? Yet there are always scumbags like you lining up to defend him? Awful behaviour.

It's not really at all is it mate. They got chased all over South London. We bombarded their main boozer after that as well, and they were too cowardly to come out, just hid inside behind the police. Everton absolutely dominated them, despite all the mouth they give.

If you say so. You sound like the undefeated

You are the expert apparently so I will leave you to it.
