This part, of the reply to my original moan is relevant.
I miss most of the rest of the comments on this thread though.
But I've seen a fair few family members now end up doing jobs they never imagined, although highly qualified.

since I'm forced to defend myself I could point to the fact that in every school I've worked in over approx 30 years, I've always had the best results. One we the 2nd worst school in the country, and the last was consistently in the top 50. I think I've done my bit.
I quit last year and now earn a lot more doing odd jobs in the neighbourhood. It's easy. Never been happier.

I imagine the kind of people you're stereotyping weren't really thinking that leaving Europe would erode their rights as workers, and definitely not give them leverage over big business but more that they and their peers are affected by foreign labour taking(rightly or wrongly) jobs from their colleagues and friends and leaving Europe might stop that.
