Been working on the boat, fitting a new (very heavy) 5mm steel hatch. The job has been cursed from the start. It reached an elegant crescendo today, when, after 3 broken drill bits my BRAND NEW dewalt drill battery pack flew off and into the bottom of the Thames.

October is not a time I have been wild swimming before, however, given the cost of these little nuggets I did spend 20 minutes in the water neck deep, before deciding it was gone for ever and clambering out to deal with a mild case if hypothermia.

I very much feel the need to say something strong. Something like drat or bugger. Yes, perhaps this is worthy of bugger.
