minor things that make you fume

Am I a monster?

Arrived at a fuel station - one with a co-op attached. Hate these.

All 8 pumps were occupied and nobody was filling. I sat for 5 minutes while one At a time people came out with bagfulls of shopping and got into their cars.

Needless to say, the last 2 to come out were those in front of me. Fortunately the one immediately in front came out first, weaved around the car in front and I had a space.

I had half filled my tank when the driver of the car in front (a modern landrover) of me flounced out with an enormous sack full of shopping. An effing millennial who judging by clothing was between gym and some stables (there are lots of horsey people around here).

I enquired (politely if a bit loudly):

(n)"Tell me. Are you utterly selfish, or is it that you are totally oblivious to the fact that other people exist and might need to use these pumps? "

(Flustered but predictably unapologetic): "There was a big queue at the till. I've just put eighty pounds of fuel in this"

:dodgy:"There wasn't a big queue, I can see the queue from here. Also I don't care how much fuel you've bought, there's a car park right there to do your shopping - have a look at the number of people in the queue behind me who have been waiting while you stroll around that shop. Is it selfishness or lack of awareness?"

"You know what? I don't care what you (unladylike word) think! " (she was quite angry by this stage - I have learned that people don't like pertinent questions, even when it was just a multichoice question I'd framed to make it easy for her. All she had to do was pick one answer.

"Well your own words have answered my question"

She exits stage left.

These shop come filling stations shouldn't exist. Too many people do not know or do not care how to use them, or are simply so full of self-entitlement that other people 's inconvenience is irrelevant to them.

Consideration for other road users - highway code. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I cant say I frequent supermarket petrol stations often but out of interest what do you think she should have done?

If she moved her car to the non petrol parking spot then no one could use the pump until she had paid for her petrol anyway? In fact that would have infuriated someone even more trying to use an inactive pump.

Her only other alternative would be to pay for the petrol, then move the car, then go back in to do her shopping but no one in their right mind would do that.

As you say, those type of filling stations shouldn't exist!
