Seen people doing far riskier overtaking the past months. Chancing it cos the roads are quiet. Absolute pricks.Went out to give the car a run. Was going up a dual carriageway, not much traffic, I was in the inside lane doing about 70mph. I was overtaken by a Porsche which I estimate was doing at least 120 mph. I had been reading about speeding being on the increase due to reduced traffic but that was ridiculous.
I have to say I dont really blame them, used to cycle quite a lot( on the road) the number of drivers that pull out, open doors and step right out in front of you was astounding, fortunately there is a good cycle path along an old railway line that I ended up using, until my knee wentCyclists riding on the pavement are now starting to annoy me greatly.
Fair point but the roads were I live are still fairly quiet. And more people are out walking. This morning I was almost knocked over by a Dad and 4 kids all on bikes. I spend most of my walks moving in a zig zag fashion avoiding cyclist and joggers who seem to assume that they do not have to deviate from their path. It will be OK when (if) I go back to driving everywhere!I have to say I dont really blame them, used to cycle quite a lot( on the road) the number of drivers that pull out, open doors and step right out in front of you was astounding, fortunately there is a good cycle path along an old railway line that I ended up using, until my knee went
Yeah I can see your point, the ones that come speeding up behind are a proper pain, then get in a huff because you didnt use your rear view eyes to see themFair point but the roads were I live are still fairly quiet. Yep, staff are immune right.Just back from a COVID test at Haydock Park. Impressive setup - reminded me of the drive onto the Glastonbury site. Multiple check points for verification etc. Lots of staff there. Several staff at each checkpoint.
Whole time there, saw one person in PPE (she put on a mask as she approached car). No member of staff I saw (and there were lots) maintained social distancing with each other. Not one. They were all chatting next to each other. It was funny, for each group, as soon as they saw my car they all moved apart from each other.
I’m not really fuming, more reporting my experience that’s not been positive. May be they’ve been told they don’t need to distance and I’m missing something?
