minor things that make you fume

Football supporters who put their hands on or behind their heads as if their hands are cushions.

They do this whenever their team is losing, or a key player is about to come off due to injury and their team is playing in a final.

RS fans did this when Salah was armlocked in that UCL final in 2018..... it’s just so cliched and total cringe.

Just where did that total rubbish come from?. It resembles that “Hands on your head so you ache in pain” schoolday punishment.

The traffic these last two or three weeks has been incredible, and not in a good way. I passed my test more than 25 years ago and have never in all my time seen ANYTHING like this volume of traffic - every road down our way is nose-to-tail from 8am to 6pm every single day. It just took me two hours to drive 35 miles on a route that should take about 45 minutes.

And overwhelmingly the standard of driving skill is abysmal. Lots of people appear to have not driven for nearly a year, completely forgotten how to do anything but are still doggedly exercising their "right" to drive. I don't understand how the plod aren't having a field day with all the obvious "due care and attention" offences.

Looking at computer accessories and I keep seeing reviews which are all slight variations of “son loves it, says it’s dead good and proper really nice. Five stars!!! Xx”.

I am rapidly losing the ability to tolerate poor spelling and grammar.

"Would of" instead of "would have" appears to be widespread throughout the internet, and is particularly wince-inducing. The usual suspects also make my toes curl:

Are / our confusion;

There / their / they're confusion;

Less / fewer confusion...

What irks me the most is that when I got these wrong as a kid I was corrected by my parents and my teachers. I wanted to get it right in future so I made sure to learn the correct form. Many people now don't seem to care, and I find that somewhat depressing.

How many times did you check your grammar before posting this?:coffee:
