minor things that make you fume

Filling out form for attendance allowance for elderly person. 29 pages long.
29 pages that a person who qualifies for this benefit probably couldnt do on their own.
As @gonetomorrow correctly says - obstacles in place to ensure a high percentage who need to claim can't claim.

My stepson has Asbergers and when a claim was put in he was sent an appointment for assessment. His appointment was for a place in Manchester which would have required him to catch a train to Manchester and two separate bus journeys after that. There was no way he could have managed that - the train to Manchester alone would have tested him as it can sometimes require a change and he knows absolutely nothing about Manchester and it's bus routes.

What made it all the more galling is that there was a test centre 5 minutes walk from our house at the time. So peeved about it I actually wrote to my MP and to her credit she was straight back in touch disgusted about it. A week later we had an appointment at our local test centre.

Those in charge of dictating how care is provided for the vulnerable in society are without doubt psychopaths.

Utterly grim. Citizens advice regularly assist with these if you’re not doing it as part of a professional capacity.
The PIP forms usually require a 2 hour appointment and the questions and assessment can be thoroughly demeaning.

It’s surprising how effective writing to your local MP can be. Unfortunately, being a good constituency MP doesn’t seem to reflect on your prospects of getting top jobs in parliament.

It is - though as you say it needs to be a good constituency MP and not some big donor (or relative of) parachuted in.

Even then most MP's are well aware that if someone goes to the effort of contacting them and being reasonable then it looks very bad to brush it off. I've absolutely no doubt many would prefer their constituents to be angrily spouting off about them down the pub rather than actually engaging with them and possibly pushing an element of accountability their way.

It's another minor thing that makes me fume. People who whinge and piss about stuff and will write essays in online comments sections but won't for one minute actually think about taking constructive steps regarding an issue.
