minor things that make you fume

When you’re only buying 2 items in Lidl or Aldi and are in the queue behind 5 people, all with a months’ worth of shopping, and the staff can’t be arsed to open another checkout
I politely ask, showing my one or two - at most - items " could I go through please ". Nine times out of ten they will say yes. We've all been there.

When I buy anything that's pricey from the shops, usually anything more than £500, I do the following. If for example you have £5000 budget for a car, I will get it ALL out in cash. Go into the dealers and make an offer for a car, SHOWING THEM THE CASH. Don't negotiate and be prepared to say your walking away, £5000 there for you right now. I also leave them my number. As I say be prepared to walk away but my experience is people like to see the cash. I do it all the time when buying white goods. Last being a fridge freezer I brought from a large store The manager refused, I walked out and I got a call about 5 that day from the manager asking me to go back. Missus is very embarrassed and says I show her up. Funny she doesn't mind when it comes off. It's a cultural thing, go abroad and many places are insulted if you don't " barter ". It's the done thing. Find it works particularly well when buying second hand cars from punters. Not dealers. People really do like " seeing the cash "

Are you Mike Brewer?

I'm in Iceland and there's a shelf with a hundred different bottles of fizzy drinks. The Pepsi max ones all look the same - cool, dark colouring on the label.
Getting home I notice the little word Cherry on the label. So it's flavoured. Can't they make it clearer instead of being all dark and mysterious?
I couldn't be arsed taking it back so I'm drinking it. It's not bad actually.
But it's the principle........

When I was young, once a year, my father used to take all us 7 kids down to the shoe shop and buy our shoes. When we all got our shoes he then proceeded to haggle with the owner. I always felt humiliated by this. I was very self conscious as a child.

That Guinness with a coffee essence. Bought a four pack of the stuff to try out and ended up giving the rest to my neighbour. Bloody awful is all I can say.
