minor things that make you fume

Oh and agency work. Just binning you off at the drop of a hat. HMRC having the worst call centre ever. Noisy kids running past the window and that frigging squirrel in my back garden annoying the dog.

Shop staff that don't even try to look arsed. Just been to Currys to get a new telly and the service was that bad I nearly walked out. I know its a crap job and the pay is gash, but the very least I expect is a bit of politeness.

Liverpool mate.

Everyone I grew up with, go to work with and have ever met all use Fahrenheit when describing how hot it is.

'How hot is it in Spain mate?'

'It's well into the nineties lad - sweating 'ere.'

If it was Celsius he'd be screaming, 'for the love of god somebody help me!'

Honestly only ever heard people use Celsius in academic circles and the news (by the way, I'm not disputing that the UK changed the measurement scale an age ago, it's just nobody seems to use Celsius when describing the weather).
I don't know anyone who uses fahrenheit, except for a few folks over 60. I'm nearly 40 and I couldn't even convert celsius into fahrenheit. Is this a regional thing?

In a similar vein, some of the young'uns on my team talk about their weight in kilos and their height in centimetres - it's meaningless to me. We're talking about the youngest ones though, the 18 to 21 year olds. Just another reason to despise them I suppose.

You're bang on, of course. But why go to Currys for a telly - everyone knows they are all window-lickers in there. Get yourself down to Richer Sounds or somewhere like that.

At work weights and height are always metric...convert those without thinking about it at this point.
I am fully aware of all the different units of measurement, I must just default to certain ones without any rhyme or reason.

Kilometres can koff though.

It's miles and always will be

When American tv shows, when mentioning a foreign city, always append the country - London, England for example
But they do it for US cities as well, Los Angeles California. It's probably because there are so many US states with towns the same name (there's tons of Springfields for example).

An American cousin of mine was visiting the UK a few years ago and was amazed at the number of English towns that have been named after US ones lollollollol
