I have just resigned from my job and it feels great. this is what i sent them the tossers, hope it gives you a giggle.
Dear ?,
I have received your letter about me resigning. On the 16th May I returned to work following 2 weeks sick, after arriving was told that I would be facing a disciplinary about the Sunday I was Duty Manager when the delivery was 6 hours late not 4 as we are told on a daily basis.
My staff had arrived by that point and had to be sent away, again pretty much a daily occurrence so 6 hours later as you can imagine they were a little bit peeved at this, again. So yes I quit gave my notice there and then as I'm pretty much fed up with the way this company runs. How often do you turn up for work to be sent home or away again ? from your cushy little office. Not many I suspect.
This company is a disgrace from top to bottom you have no regard for the workers on the shop floor despite in their contract it saying 'occasionally' you will be required to work extra at short notice. Well no sorry ? it's not occasionally it's just about everyday, with no regards to people who have families.
On top of that you treat Management like they should work 50 hours a week every week despite signing a 44 hour contract, that also states occasionally. Then we get to the Area Manager who seems to think it's ok to shout and swear at staff and other Management, only to the female members funnily enough though. So maybe you should have a word with ? and tell him that using the F word either on the phone or to their face is pretty unaccpetable. It's bad enough they come in and never praise no matter how good the store looks. Very de-motivational for all staff.
I have worked for TJ Morris a year and have never seen such a ridiculous turn over of staff, maybe think about why. Hourly minimum wage people are your bread and butter and yet you treat them as expendable, does it ever cross your mind that building a strong loyal team gets better results than different personnel every week. I even had 3 staff quit before they even started such is the bad reputation of your company.
So before you start spouting the handbook at me and what notice I should work maybe take a good look at it yourself as most of it is brushed to the wayside. I could sit and write a list but I think you're aware of the non compliance most of your stores have. Health and Safety, you're having a laugh, the amount of cages that have toppled off wagons stacked incorrectly at the warehouse is damn right dangerous and I have plenty of photos to prove it. As does ? but I'm sure he never passed them on as he like to brush things under the carpet as it seems he only likes shouting at females.
Anyway ? consider my notice served on gardening leave and I hope TJ Morris gets what's coming to it in a court of law, what will it take a death...oh wait that already happened. UNSAFE is what I say to this company.

One thing I used to hate about shift work was being expected to drop absolutely everything at a moment's notice to come in to work. Or the way you get told "take the rota with a pinch of salt as it changed regularly" which meant you were supposed to come in every other day to check the rota for changes. I lasted 3 months in the job in question before leaving.
