minor things that make you fume

Some who post such things do it genuinely, wanting to share a personal moment with their friends & family.

Others do it out of base insecure narcissism, fishing for likes and active buzzwords in the comments box like "wonderful!". Getting them increases levels of serotonin in the brain, which makes the narcissist feel happy and secure.

i completely swerved facebook about 5 years ago after realising its just an attention seeking borefest..

Saw the Chemical Brothers last night and there were hundreds of people just filming away so they could post it on social media.

Some people get more enjoyment out of telling everyone what they did than actually enjoying the event.

agreed.

how was the gig? big fan of dig yer own hole/surrender. not familiar with newer stuff.

Firstly, I am guilty of this though usually more trying to get a decent photo to remember the gigs by. Takes loads to get just one I like! I know it is the act of a tool and am trying to curtail it - especially as at the last gig I went to almost the entire audience were doing it and it was mega distracting!

Secondly, how good are the Chemical Brothers live these days? Seen twice and were incredible but not seen them for ages now. Did they play much new stuff? From what I've heard I can't wait for the new album!

When there has been a bad road accident, cars on the other side slowing down, not to take care or anything but so that someone can film it on their mobile. I feel at times I just have no understanding of the modern world and the things (some) people do.

I've heard that the highways agency are planning to install roller screens on central reservations, which can be quickly raised to shield the opposite carriageway from the incident, in order to stop rubbernecking. What a time to be alive.

@GlosBlue @dholliday the Chemical Brothers were superb, I'll be honest I don't remember it all but I do remember having a lot of fun!! It was at a festival so maybe the set list was a bit different as it just seemed to be classic after classic.

Galvanise was special.

I saw them at T In The Park but must've been over ten years ago! Also saw them at this free gig in Trafalgar Square which was also amazing. The visuals that accompany the songs make it so much more exciting.

@dholliday Have you heard their first album Exit Planet Dust? Definitely listen to that! I'd also say give all the other albums a go as the songs are all great and you hear new stuff every time you listen to them!

Being stupid and refreshing the recent posts page, which doesn't populate a new list just refreshes the old one. Steals 5 seconds of my life every time.

Yeah, bit of a flaw on this site if you ask me. New/Recent posts should be refreshed using refresh button, not having to actually click on the New Posts/Recent Posts link every time.
