Reports today that a Belgian rider from the women's U23 cyclocross world championship has had her bike seized for suspected 'mechanical doping' ie having a motor in it.
The race was won by a British rider - Evie Richards, absolutely bossed the race to take a very rare cyclocross win for the UK at world level. Toughest bike racing there is, and it is dominated by Belgians [CX is a religion there. Eden Hazard, Romelu Lukaku, Kevin de Bruyn, Fellaini - not all that well known in Belgium compared to Sven Nys]. Shame for Richards that her win will be discussed in the same breath as a cheater using a jarg bike to pretend to be an athlete (if the reports are true).
