There is possibly a thread on its own for this irritation, but it's to do with personalised (vanity) number plates.
I get it that there are people with more money than sense who want these things. What irritates and makes me cringe in equal measures, is when the owner has to have, in small print at the bottom of the plate, an explanation of what the numbers and letters are supposed to mean.
Pathetic, no other word for it. By the way anything with EFC on a plate is acceptable.
