Minor things that make you happy

I'm far from a pro golfer but I can play off either hand, better accuracy off my left but more power with the right, I mainly use left handed but keep a right handed 5 iron in the bag for those dodgy positions.
All credit to you as I once tried to play with the opposite hand and I was lucky to strike the ball, let alone talk about accuracy or power.

Snap, I like a 4 iron though and I putt right handed.
Bob Charles was the same, played lefty to stop his right arm overpowering his action

Got an allotment a couple of weeks ago and have had a couple of days to off work so had the opportunity to really get stuck in. Lots of hard work getting it straight but it's a really peaceful way of getting away from everything. Just seeing it come together slowly, bit by bit is really satisfying.
What are you planning to grow ?

Would love to see pro golfers play a tournament the wrong hand...

Now that would be worth watching!
I played cricket with a Zimbabwe test match opening batsman for a while.
He played left handed, but he could genuinely bat nearly as well right handed.
I could defend well enough playing with the opposite hand, but the scoring shots were impossible.

What are you planning to grow ?

Spuds, peas, beans, sprouts, carrots, onions, shallots, turnips, radish, cucumber, lettuce, cabbage....nothing out of the ordinary and its worth having a go at everything now I've got space and the seed is very cheap as I got it all when it was being sold off for next to nothing last Oct/Nov. There's 3 mature apple trees there as well so I might try and cram some strawberry planters and a couple of other fruit bushes in there somewhere as well.

Are you starting from scratch, or do you have green fingers ?
My grandad had an allotment and he grew blackcurrants and strawberries, just the smell of them was just incredible, never mind the taste. Good luck with the pests though.

I've enjoyed gardening for years, especially when the hard parts done and you can just sit back with a cold beer, relax and watch the birds and bees come and go. Never had the space to do veg and fruit though so there's a learning curve. Pests can be a pain but I'm not one for pellets and sprays. Netting, careful planting and encourage the birds that like to nibble on slugs and snails.

@Joey66 is our resident agricultural expert.

He`ll be available to give advice after the latest Brexit deadline on April 12th.

He`s busy until then stockpiling cans of chickpeas, tinned tomatoes, curry powder and dyson hoover parts to enable survival after the No Deal Brexit Apocalypse.
