Minor things that make you happy

That reminded me. In August 1970, her indoors was in the Canadian Red Cross Memorial Hospital in Taplow, awaiting birth of our third child. She had been in for about 10 days due to high blood pressure. I visited in the evening and halfway through visiting, her indoors said something was happening. I went to get the nurse and the Sister came, cleared the ward of all visitors and told me to [Poor language removed] home. I drove home and had been home for about 30 minutes when her indoors phoned to say we had a baby girl. I asked where she was phoning from (no mobiles in those days). She said she had walked down to reception to use the phone there!
Clare Louise is now 51 years old and today came to visit us, took her indoors out shopping and did a load of jobs for us. We have 2 boys (men now, eldest born 1960 second born 1963 both in Leeds) Second daughter born 1971, also in Taplow.
Can't believe how lucky we have been.

Just in from delivering food parcels to those assessed, by whom I don't know, who are deemed most in need for assistance with putting food on the plates within the household.
Upon arrival at one of the addresses, the lady next door told me that although the recipient of the goods was not present, if I rang the doorbell her cleaner would be able to take it in on her behalf.
I'm so happy that I didn't have to take the goods back to the food bank.
