Mirallas departs Blues for Olympiacos

The Greeks missed him very much. Mirallas has been smiling all day. Getting on the plane, getting off the plane - bombarded by fans. I havent seen him smile like since the old days. He was missed in Piraeus and it seems the feeling is mutual. Some players give some soul to a club and fall in love a bit. He has got the bug. If he is successful it suits both parties.

Nah, really happy for him. Why would you want to play in the EPL when there’s money to be made in Greece? Sunshine, good exchange rate, nobody telling you to put in at training...glorious! No wonder he’s smiling.

Naa.. in Greece if a player doesn't put in effort - the fans come down to training armed..and usually violence ensues.. happens so often it is now bordering on cliche.. lots of players board a plane the next day and leave when that happens. Mirallas knows the drill. He plays for the fans and he is safe.

In this case I think he is just back where he was most successful. Perhaps La Liga would have been more his style - but he took the cash and now it is about him and football again. Seeing any professional genuinely happy after a depression or sulk is always rewarding in itself.

He won’t but he scored and assisted more than Barkley in the same amount of games! (An amazing stat considering the love for Ross and hate for Mirallas) Never ratted us and never shat himself in derbies.
Good luck to him.

Christ, is that true? If so, definitely a shame not to have got more out of him in his time here. Still £4m on him and off the books is probably a 'result' right now all things considered. Kind of surprised Alladyce didn't give him more of a run - our front line is a wee bit lightweight and Kev is direct and strong on the ball.

Hope he goes well in Greece - it's no skin off our nose if he can produce regularly somewhere.

Very knowledgable Olympiacos fans there.

We didn't even have Contract Dave on hand to greet Tosun.
