Misc. Transfer Rumour Thread

I keep reading this point, but Wigan were only three points adrift of Southampton in the final table. A couple of different results could have seen the Saints relegated instead with the likes of Shaw, Lallana, Schneiderlin etc and you can bet that PL teams would have been enquiring about some of them. A relegated team doesn't necessarily consist entirely of poor players.

Don't bother. hktoffee is quite the blinkered individual.

If we were ever after a 'like for like' replacement for Fellaini, Crystal Palace captain Mile Jedinak would be our man. He has been on fire so far this season and is in the last year of his contract. Just saying...

Good ball winner but can't pass for ****.

Disclaimer: I've watched him for 90 mins against Spurs.

I know it got nothing to do with Everton but, Stoke have apparently sign Marko Arnautovic for £2M... Why weren't we in for him if he was available for that amount!!?? I know he is no Cristiano Ronaldo, not even close but he could have been an improvement over Naismith and could have actually given Mirallas and Pienaar some true competition for their spots.

Great business for Stoke if true.

Jedinak has been playing very well but is 29 and has been very inconsistent throughout his career.
He was Palace's player of the year last season. I've watched him many times in his appearances for the Australian national team and while performing for Central Coast in the A-League. In my opinion, he is quite consistent. From what I'm aware, he hasn't had any serious injuries throughout his career so should still have at least 3-4 good seasons left in him. Besides, we've just take a 32 year old on loan so don't see how age is a factor here.

That's fine, but we don't a replacement for Fellaini, we need a different type of player. As terrific a player he is, he just doesn't fit in all that well with what RM wants to do. He's not that great as a holding, defensive type middy. His size, his ability in the air, his ability to be a target on set pieces / throws, his ability to put the ball in the net, all don't really help us at defensive mid, other than his ability to come up on set pieces. McCarthy seems overpriced, but he really fits in style-wise. Barry would be a nice replacement in that defensive midfield role.

Demba Ba would be available on loan so we could sign him regardless of Felliani going, he was close to signing before he went to Newcastle from all reports and is a proven Premier League striker, would be a very good signing although I haven't heard with us linked with him once which is a real shame, lets just hope Martinez is interested.

So you predict something that has never happened and it seems no other PL club want their players except our manager.

So because the only person in for either Fellaini or Baines appears to be our ex-manager, we can assume that both Fellaini and Baines are overrated pieces of rubbish. Because no other PL club wants them.

I'm actually surprised no one else has been in for Fellaini.
I couldn't see Baines going abroad, but I certainly could see the big fella go abroad.

Fellaini and Baines aren't Wigan players though. And no they are not overrated. And you are just trying to be another mind reader again. Christ.

Not as blinkered as you mooseatingnome.

Do you perhaps not grasp the concept of being blinkered? If I was say espousing the say views as you were on the inherent crapness of Wigan's players, then perhaps I could be descripbed as blinkered too. However, seeing as how the opposite is true my conclusion is that no, you do not understand the concept of being blinkered. Shall I file this along with Ramadan under 'Things hktoffee does not quite grasp'?

You are so annoying like as a 3rd form kid. Just put me in the ignore list FFS. The same applied to you if you believe the inherent greatness of the overpriced Wigan's players. You rate them, I don't. Ok?
