What's the purpose of mucus ? Asking for my volcanic nose.

Mucus protects the epithelial cells in the tubes of your respiratory system, your gastrointestinal system, your visual system, your auditory system and your urogenital system.

There are various types of epithelial cells. Some of them absorb nutrients from your food and drink (gastrointestinal) and some of them make it easier for air to get into the lung sacs. And so on.

@Groucho, the Tesco site used to be an oil reclaimtion site called Lanstar, was owned by EFC shareholder. Tesco had to wait 3 years after buying the site to ensure the oils had drained or cleared prior to building.
