Starting to get sweepy in Washington.

I only think the big thing to change for the Mets already is having Buck in the dugout.
He’s never going to let anything just lie down, he’ll fight for it.

With due respect to Rojas he was just too soft. Buck has thag level of understanding which could be massive this year.

That said, Washington are terrible and they’ve faced three excellent pitchers so far in Megill (hugely underrated, his injury last year means that will continue), Max and Bassitt last night.

I’ll reserve my judgement on the Mets until we face the Phillies. The schedule is horrible for us too, with that 3 day series out in Arizona without a break.

I’m considering deGrom as done for the year, if he can come back and be effective… great, but keep the rotation healthy and we have a great chance

Even if we get Jake back healthy, it will be mid June until he’s up to speed. The way we’re approaching the bats is completely different as well. Much more focus on getting on base than going for big hits.

On Buck, he was first to react when the Ben he’s cleared on Friday. That says a lot.

I have only seen the reruns back, due to the time differences, but the level of anger he had, fhat can translate to the players.

A controlled, aggressive approach to the season surely sees us make the playoffs.

I think if these games had been a little closer and we’d lost one or two, then Walker would have started tonight. Good idea to put Carrasco in when we’re on a high. He may give up some runs, but the offence can easily get him a win, which will be great for his confidence. It also saves Walker for the home opener against Philli.

Loup was a must. Don’t know why we were so cheap.

But back to winning ways again, and Megill is the man.

If you come out of a road trip with a winning record it’s never a bad thing. 5-2 would be a huge signal of intent by us.
