He's had an amazing second act. Traded in his velocity and muscle for guile and flab. Saw him in person in Cleveland during his prime and he was throwing 100 mph most of the game
Hahaha yes get in!!

Bartolo's forgotten more about pitching his way out of tough situations than most guys ever get to know. Go ahead, try to hit that stuff.

Ken Griffey Jr. inducted into the Hall of Fame with the highest percentage of all time.

Beyond being an incredible player, he and Edgar Martinez (should be in too), saved baseball in Seattle.

So happy for The Kid. He's the first #1 overall pick to be inducted! Probably the most amazing thing I read today.
I took a vacation to Seattle in '90 with my parents while he was with them. Got to see him and his dad play along with Johnson's no-hitter against Detroit. Will never forget that despite being very young.

Saw him once when I was a little kid. Pre-interleague, back when the Brewers were in the AL. ;)

It wasn't nearly as memorable of game as that.

Yep. Both highly deserving. People seem to forget just how good Junior was, especially early. You had to see it to believe it.

Hard to believe it was that long ago, seems like just yesterday.

Remember the Griffey vs Bonds debate; remarkable how their paths diverged. One hamstrung by injuries, the other propelled in the stratosphere by aggressive "therapy."

I'll take Griffey Jr all day

That is amazing regarding the #1 pick. Always thought Robin Yount was a #1 overall pick (know he was in the top 5)

Brien Taylor
*giggles
Had a couple friends who were Yankees fans who were convinced he was the next Steve Carlton

Todd Van Poppel... it's a long list of highly drafted HS kids that never did anything. Not a knock on them necessarily. I suppose it's the same as promising academy kids. Talent alone does not an elite athlete make.

It would be interesting to see the list of #2 overall picks. May benefit from lower expectations
