MLS All-Stars vs Manchester United

I have to disagree on Alston. He's not Marvel Wynne, but he's out of position quite a bit and offers very little going forward. He's a good athlete and can defend one on one, but lacks defensive awareness. I'd honestly be shocked if he beats out Spector, Lichaj and Franklin in 4 years. Heck, I'm not sure Cherundolo isn't still the best option.

The CCL conflicts robbed MLS of some of its best players, so while I'm sure there will be a lot of "the entire league can't field a team that can compete with ManU" it's just not the case. And regardless of the conflicts, I don't see how guys like Moreno, Le Toux and Pappa can be named to an all star team. Good players in the league, but can't compete at this level.

I think the MLS squad that started the second half was better than the one that started the match. Schelotto and Morales would never work. I'm glad that many got to see Shalrie Joseph play though, he was excellent.

Marshall was solid on defense imo, and had his normal dominance on set plays. I hope he and Goodson get a real shot to start in the next cycle, the US could really use them on corners.

Interesting as we all felt Marshall made several mistakes but just wasn't punished like Alston was. Macheda missed a sitter after Marshall let the Giggs through ball scoot right past his feet.

Like I said, in tonight's match, other than the big mistake, Alston was solid and gave Nani all he wanted really. I haven't watched him this year so you may be correct on all of your assertions. I was really just commenting on his performance tonight.

United came out fired up after losing to KC. MLS Bench was stronger than the starters... Fun game to watch regardless.

What was it like seeing De Rosario scoring in Houston again?

I didn't mind it at all. He makes a habit of scoring in All Star matches. Most of us in Houston understood he wanted to move back home but we sure miss his abilities on the field. When Holden was here, we were ok with not having him. With both of them gone, you can see the results.

Evening again USA Toffees

Watched the highlights

Its great to see how Football is catching on in the states

Seems a lifetime since Georgie Best played for the Los Angeles Aztecs

Great stuff

Did you enjoy how 75% of the 70k people in the crowd were Man Utd fans? Its ridiculous, you shouldve seen the face paint and devil costumes they were wearing.

Good afternoon. You guys made the MLS look like...well, the MLS.

Its getting better though mate and some quality players are coming through

Look at Donavan et al and how you did in the World Cup

I am a big supporter of America and the American People

We need to stick together in these challenging times

We love you too, Nev. Two countries separated by a common language, eh.

Saw shirts from just about every club.

Of course the only Everton shirt I saw was mine !!!

Wore it proudly.
