Thing is this guy can sign for another club in 6 months time. His contract is up in a year.

So Brands quite rightly isn't going to be taken for a mug over it. £36M plus a similar buy back clause is ridiculous for a player in the last year of his contract.

Pretty much says we're happy to pay the asking price of 40m euro, but talks are at at a standstill as we're refusing a buy-back clause. We're hopeful a deal will be reached.
