Could it be that the media and their biased journalists/pundits are getting a bit edgy and nervous about this 'new' Everton?

Without a doubt, I always liked merson, he always spoke well about us, but last summer showed people were happy to pat us on the head when we weren't doing anything, now we're making stories they're all spouting bitter drivel. Start of last season we had so many dodgy decisions go against us when I saw the top 6 all get the same decisions with a different outcome.

That richarlison headbutt being a perfect example. 3 players from top 6 sides did even worse last season and didn't get punished.

Trouble is he will go back to Juventus once Ronaldo retires and we will be back to square one.

No exactly square one if he goes back. It'll be because his goals have helped get us back into Europe, this making us more attractive to high quality players.

Lukaku is still only 26 mate. If he is already 2 years past his "peak" then that probably says more about his application and fitness.
He is the past , we need to move on from him.
Still haven't forgiven him for his goal celebration at Old Trafford.

What makes you say Lukaku is past his peak? He scored 27 in 51 for United in his 1st season. Even last season, for a dire United side, he got 15 goals in 45 appearances which would have made him top scorer here. One somewhat mediocre (by his standards) season, doesn't make a player. He's a goalscorer absolutely with his best yet to come. United will regret selling him, even for Dybala.
