Surely Welbeck would be a last resort, but just really wonder if the list of Brands contains something in between: Kean / Leao are high profile / highly sought after. I have not seen many links of players where I thought: that could be plan b

I wouldn’t even sing him as a last resort mate, signing some players is actually worse than having nobody come in. Bolasie and co are an example of this, gun to head I would rather go with what we have now than Sogn another overpaid non productive player on a 5 year deal that isn’t good enough. We would still be needing a striker next year even if we did sign him as he’s gash, difference would be that when we signed the next striker we would have another bolasie situation where nobody would take wellbeck off us as he’s be on over 100k a week, would actually cost a fee and his injury and goal scoring record would be even worse than it is now

Kean should be seen as an equivelent of signing deulofeu.
He was equally a hot prospect, but young, raw and having to settle into a new country. All this while a teenager.
I can’t see him being a starter for the whole season let alone a 20 goal season player. 5 years for now maybe, but there are very few teenagers that have made a huge impact on the premier league at his age

You forgetting about the last young high potential striker that was signed? Age is irrelevant when Kean is far better than any of the current options, he’s not going to be on the bench
