2020/21 Moise Kean

I just don’t understand the logic used in this thread.

Player sucks for Everton and doesn’t want to be here. Said player goes on loan scores a few. Fans pine for said player despite knowing he sucks for us.
Many players especially young ones haved played terribly for Everton before and gone on to become good players without being loaned out. Look at Dom, he wasn't always awful mind but he's only really started playing well the last 18 months despite being in the team since 2016/17. Easy saying it in retrospect but if we had any aspirations of keeping Kean it was a horrible idea loaning him out, nevermind to PSG who we can't match in any regard. If the idea was always to cash in on him fair enough but seems silly to do that with such "potential".

It's not really the not giving him a chance that's the issue. It's that we got one of Europe's best young striking talents - which at the time he was - and just didn't play to any of his strengths. Lumped him up front on his own or out wide and in a 4-2-3-1 and expected him to just be good. Then you get our fanbase, which is just dreadful for young players. We're an odd, odd bunch.

I'm happy he's doing well because he's never gonna come back here and we can get good money for him, but we need to stop doing this. If we sign a promising player, don't just chuck them in and expect it to click right away.

If he didn’t get loaned out in Jan he’d still have been parked on the bench getting the odd few minutes doing very little.
