You have no idea how FFP works do you?

Yes - a players transfer cost is worked out over the length of his contract.

Ie. Schneiderlin signing for £25 million on a 5 year contract works out at £5 million per year on the books.

You sell him in his 4th season at the club you need to sell at £5 million to break even - you sell for £10 million you've made a £15 million loss on the player but actually post a £5 million profit on the books.

Which is why selling players like Kenny, Davies, Bernard will be essential if we need to avoid FFP and spend big.

Selling players like Siggurdsson and Bolasie for a few quid will harm us FFP wise even though getting their wages off the books is massive for us.

So please explain how selling Bernie for 15m allows us to buy 3 players for 25m each on 5 year contracts.

Duh, they buy themselves and we give them a cool million each a year for the 5 years with the 15 large.

Can't believe how stupid some folk are ffs.

Nobody is paying £10 million for him

I agree.

But I think the fee will include his wages on the remaining 12 months of his contract, which is circa 5 million.

I’ve heard people mention 2 million, so maybe he is going for about 7 million but most of it goes to paying off the remainder of his contract, and we are left with 2 million? That would be a good deal imo.

Selling Bernard for £15 million is £15 million profit in the books - we paid bugger all for him.

Buying 3x £25 million players on 5 year contracts will be £15 million on this financial year books.

Obviously its a further £15 million for the following 4x seasons whilst they are at the club but if you are going solely off what we can get away with on a year by year basis then selling Bernard for £15 million helps us a hell of alot more in giving the manager the funds to spend this summer than selling Iwobi for £15 million 1 year into his 5 year deal which would post us a loss.

Simply put without selling Gana last season we would have struggled spending what we did as he was the big profit maker FFP speaking.

I dont know - everyone assumes Carlo rates our left side more than the right but I dont see it:

Walcott he seems to play whenever he is fit

Bernard he rarely plays

Gordon has started getting into the squad at LW

Iwobi is naturally left sided but has been utilised largely on the right under Carlo.

I think out of all our wide players Bernard he rates the least - FFP I imagine will also play a part in that - selling Bernard for £15 million essentially permits us 2-3x £20-25 million signings on 5 year contracts in terms of FFP for this coming financial year with Bernard being on a free.

It also free's up 100k+ off the wage books.

I would love a RW as I dont rate Walcott/IwobI at all but I think he'll stick with them and bring in a LW of his choosing with Gordon getting minutes in reserve.

If anyone is sacrificed It will be him imo.

Iwobi has started one game under Ancelotti when our only natural right sided player was injured and he didn;t want to give a kid his debut out of position.

And anybody who says they do is lying.
