Really happy with this one. Thought he was excellent at Southampton the year before he signed for the Mancs; wins the ball, intercepts, can keep it simple, looks for the forward pass. Didn't see a lot of him for Utd though, truth be told, and lack of game time for last year (or more?) could be an issue in the short term.
Maybe on the edge of overpaying, but in a season when Jordan Ibe went for £15m, gives you an idea of the inflated market.
Looks to me like a ready replacement for Barry, but 5 years younger than Barry was when we got him.
My question mark would be over how him and Gana will play in terms of covering each other, not both being too deep, who moves forward and links play up, who drops deeper, can they sort an understanding out etc.

What I liked about that clip is not only how strong he is on the ball, but how quick and incisive he is in his passing, putting his team on the front foot. He did that role so well at Southampton with wanyama behind him. Gana will play a similar role to wanyama
