Another one of those threads that pass the time of day!

Few months back, me and a few mates watched Irreversible, starring Monica Belluci. I dont think anyone who ahs heard of it needs reminding of the two controversial scenes in that movie. So graphic and disturbing that i have to admit i shied away from watching it.

Has any film made you really uncomfortable watching it?

Shinderlers list...............Only because the reality of it all. An what was allowed to happen at the time.

Truly shocking.

not so much while i was watching it but more that it lived with me a long time after i'd seen it.

a dutch movie called the vanishing. if anyone has not seen it then i wont give away what happened.. but be warned.. you will carry the movie round with you for a long time.

Yes, the original Dutch version was a great movie (I think they made a Hollywood version with Jeff Bridges?).

Apart from films that are shocking because of the events they portray, my two would be:

The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover - Peter Greenaway
(shocking in many ways)
Thirteen
(very glad I wasn't a parent after watching this)

Man bites dog. Shows how easy it is to be ruthlessly brutal in todays society and how little it matters.

Scum. They should show this film in schools to little thugs that think they are 'it'. Then take them on a trip to the local borstal to have a chat with some damaged individuals. I'm sure they'd become mom's little timmy again in no time.

Holocaust did it for me, family members served in the liberating forces and it brought real life horror home good style(y)
