Ghostbusters put the shits up me...

First film I ever saw at the cinema.

I shat myself in the library scene, covered my eyes and refused to look at the screen for about half an hour.

Saw an austrian (i think) film years ago called Funny Games and that was about as disturbing as it gets. Also brilliant, but disturbing.

I don't know if you'd call this disturbing but I saw this movie when I was a kid so it seemed kinda scary.

I guess what was disturbing about it is that you never saw the truck driver's face throughout the entire movie.

This was Spielberg's first film I believe.

Nowadays, I don't watch any suspense/horror films. They scare the crap out of me. :o

Mr Haneke, who also made the disturbing Piano Teacher and Hidden (Caché - a must for all fans of La Binoche, paging Mr Wayne). I think it (Funny Games) is just being released as an American remake with Naomi Watts.

The uncut version of Wes Craven's Last House on the Left was pretty disturbing. I certainly couldn't watch it again. :(

Kamchatka- Argentine film about the horror of the military dictatorship. You don't see any violence. It's all psychological.
Garage Olimpo- Same theme but you see violence in this one. Truly horrific.

Guaranteed to be given the Hollywood treatment; ie, utterly ruined.

I remember the remake of The Vanishing. The original had an utterly horrific ending. Obviously the Hollywood version was given a nice, smiley, happy ever after ending.

Guff.

I thought Pan's Labyrinth was pretty disturbing aswell, namely the bit featuring the guy with eyeballs on his hands that eats children.

The film was made even more disturbing since my friend told me it was a 'modern Never Ending Story'.

Liar!!

I watched that when I was about 10!! I remember being scared of big American Semi's for a long time!

Also has Tim Roth in it as well. Which normally would be a wise move but he makes much better bad guys then he does victims so chances are it will probably suck.

Although i thought the original sucked so no big loss really!

in the 80's i used to think 'the firm' with gary oldman as becksy in it was ace and was gonna transfer it from vhs to dvd as it didn't seem to be on any of the file sharing sites, it was on e4 or somethin the other week and to be honest i now think it's shoite.

'they once were warriors ' is violent and there are far worse but when you take into account that after it's release the maori population stated that it was the most accurate portrayal of a maori male ever....THAT is disturbing. not seen part 2 of it though which follows jake the muss after his daughter tops herself, it's called 'what becomes of the broken hearted' and to be honest dont really know much about it, the maori had taken a long look at themselves after the 1st one and were embarrased at how accurate it was, not saying it made them change their ways though.

natural born killers got a lot of hype and was banned here i believe, i watched it in australia and after the reports of people going crazy in cinemas i sat there with one eye on the screen and one eye scanning the weirdo's in the cinema, 3rd eye was twitchin' every time someone stood up for a slash, japs eye was freshly cleaned in the hope of rooting the bird i went to watch it with (wasted a bottle of dettol there i tell ya)
