Most hated opposition player

Just going to keep this non-RS

I absolutely can't stand Bruno at United. Just the incessant whining turns me off

I didn't even really like Gordon when he played for us, but he at least served a purpose. After what he did, he's another I can't stand watching

Pretty much anyone at Chelsea except for Palmer. He's sound

Got away with murder on the field because he was England captain.

Lost total respect for Kane a couple of seasons back getting the Duke sent off also.
What game was this, can’t remember it off the top of my head? Got a clip, because I’d love to let more hate flow through me haha

Justin Fashanu. Thug. What he did to Gary Mabbutt was criminal. But he got off at court due to "expert testimony " from FA chief whose name I've thankfully forgotten.

And Vinny Jones, another faux hard man. Again, what he did to Gary Stevens (Spurs - video is a horror) was criminal. Totally lost his bottle though in 1993 at our place.

Two total cowards.

It can be hit and miss but the Upshot podcast (on Dennis Wise) has some stuff about Jones, apparently he (and Fashanu) only bullied people who wouldn’t be able to get him back properly.

Also in tales from podcasts, Clough smashed his ghetto blaster before a game once and he did nothing.

Here you are mate. ;)

We were fighting for our lives to stay up at the time.

That wasn’t the game where Aurier should have got sent off, they should have had another red and Dele Alli punched the ball out of the sky and VAR said ‘nothing to see here’ and son snapped Coleman? (Can’t believe all that happened in one game wow, almost clattenberg levels of cheating that)

Gerrard. The sneering arrogance and his pure hatred for Everton was something else. That generation with Carragher Fowler was absolutely obsessed with us and to this day can’t seem to let it go. One of the most overrated players in the prem. spoken about like an all time great when in reality he turned up for about 10 games a season, a few cup finals, and zero international games. Belongs at the same level as a Darren Fletcher except he actually won a few league titles. Carrick was a miles better player than he was but if you don’t play for Liverpool you don’t have the media bigging you up every second of the day.

Fletcher / Carrick / Gerrard

Who would you want Armstrong to play like for us?

Son. Snidey vicious player. Was hated in Germany, long list of petulant violent and dangerous things he's done, but he gets away with it because he plays the whole "smiley innocent" act. Hope someone snaps his leg

Faux hard men.
Nasty players
Hes not that type players

The RS always seem to sign horrible people

Yes he’s a very good player, an absolute quality player of course. But he’s considered in most pundits best PL teams of all time, in some best teams ever. Some have called him England’s greatest midfielder.

That’s what I mean by overrated. It’s not that he’s not good, or couldn’t win games by himself, he could. But no one talks about Lampard this way and he arguably was more consistent, scored more goals, turned up in big games more often, and did more at international level.

An extremely good player yes but still very overrated, same thing is happening with Van Dijk now. It’s not that he’s not good, he’s just not as era defining as the media make out

Lampard was part of a top side.

Gerrard carried a team into being a top side

Carrick. He controlled games, dictated from the middle. Gerrard lit up games but Alonso controlled the midfield in that team.

England’s biggest problem is they keep picking big name players who produce big moments but missing the players who can dictate from the middle. It happened with Gerrard Lampard Henderson all getting outplayed by Pirlo Kroos Xavi Modric etc. and now we see the team again being built around Bellingham who is not the player who can dictate from midfield.
