Mogwai were just something else. I remember having an early radio only urusei yatsura single kicking around somewhere. Will still listen to Aiden Moffat now and then. Not too much like Jesus

That's the beauty of Albini. He will work for anyone and give his best. His rates are cheap too. $1000 a day gets you him and his studio.

That's the dream for me. Have somebody put up enough for us to go to Chicago for a week and do a record with that guy.

They are not in the pantheon that folks want to put them in.

Agree. Said on the Floyd thread, most of their stuff is about as psychedelic as a pint of brown ale and if there's one thing more tedious than Dave Gilmour wanking off his fretboard, it's Roger Waters banging on about his issues with women, and Palestine.

The early, Syd-era stuff saves them though, and the mid-period stuff is ok too. Don't get the love for "The Wall" though, and "Dark Side..." is, while a good record, nowhere near deserving of the plaudits it receives. There are plenty of way more overrated bands though. I don't mind Floyd. I do like a fair bit of their stuff.

Oasis? One good album before cocaine hubris set in. Remember being sooooo disappointed with "What's the Story?". Pretty much wrote them off after that. Correctly.

Champagne Supernova is a contender for the worst song ever written by man or woman.
