I saw them once and it just felt wrong. Would be like the Crickets playing on without Buddy Holly!

I’ve seen them loads since the death of Adamson, with various singers and still great in a small venue. Mike Peters from the Alarm was probably the best stand in, as he’s a massive fan and you always felt like it was an honour for him to do it.

I'm gonna add Radford to this mix.

They got stitched up by RCA - then moved to universal who also screwed them over. great band though, with some cracking songs.

I really like Ride, when I was about 14 they were probably my favourite band for a bit. For those first 4 EP's and the first LP they were about as close to perfection as any band gets. The music, the sleeve art, the live shows all brilliant. The second LP was superb, too. They fell off pretty badly after that though. Carnival of Light is the definition of average and Tarantula is give or take a couple of bits an Andy Bell solo record and shockingly poor. It's been so good to see them back together and making really good stuff and seemingly really enjoying it. If they'd followed "Going Blank Again" with "Weather Diaries" back in the day they'd have smashed it out of the park.

Great post.
Even carnival of light had some great songs like bird man and crown of creation.
I was lucky enough to see them live first time around, I was at daytripper the joint headline gig with the charlatans in Blackpool which was superb. I saw them a couple of years ago in Manchester and they were still good despite Gardners dodgy hat!!

I was at that. Such a great gig. Saw them a few times back then.

Went to the Nowhere 25th Anniversary tour in Bristol as well, which was excellent. Quite a surreal night, went with my ex from back then, and the guys from Slowdive. Rachel is one of her best mates. Also managed to forget where I parked and couldn't find my car until the next day lol
