So with a visit to Tayside out of the way we stay in Scotland but our attentions now turn to Motherwell.
Are we here to bring James McFadden back? Have we remembered to bring the receipt in some sort of 'Pienaar or your money back' deal? Seriously, I think faddy got a bit of undeserved stick but labelling him the Scottish Rooney when we had just lost the English one was a mill stone round his neck.
The steel men have not dropped out of the top-flight of Scottish football since 1984, but have only lifted one trophy in that time – the Scottish Cup in 1991.
As pre-seasons go, two out of two ain't bad (as meatloaf didn't sing), and I'm really hoping AEK Athens is a good one (mainly coz I've got my ticket). I'm sure everyone will agree, aside from a Barkley goal, it was a good show from the tangerines, and if we're being entirely honest we were the better team in the first half, but Dundee United, the better of the Dundee clubs, had the second half sewn up. Who knows, maybe they'll give Celtic a run for the title now Rangers are no more?
Will we see more of Vellios? Will we see any of Naismith? I doubt the latter, at least until he's defo injury free/recovered.
I'm going for 3-1 Everton.
